Batch Operations

Batch operations change many records at once. You can delete them all, or move them all to another activity type. They work on the records of a report, so you choose the records with the report's settings: the period, the types, the tags and the comment.

This is the one task you still need the older Reports screen for: More → Reports. For everyday filtering and export, use the History tab — see Filters and Export.

Action What it does
Remove all Deletes every record in the report
Change type Moves every record in the report to another activity type

Choose the records

Open More → Reports. The list has three parts:

  • Custom — set the period, the types, the tags and the comment yourself
  • User — your saved filters. Filters you saved in History are listed here too
  • Predefined — Today, This week, This month, Yesterday, Last week, Last month, Last 10 days and Last 30 days. They have no type or tag filter, so they cover every record of the period

Custom

  1. Tap Custom
  2. Tap Types and pick the activity types, then tap ✓. All types are selected at first
  3. Set From and To: the first and the last day. Both are today at first
  4. Optional: enter a word in Comment. Only records whose comment contains it are kept, in any letter case
  5. Optional: tap Tags and pick tags, then tap ✓. A record is kept if it, or its activity type, has at least one of them
  6. Tap ✓ in the toolbar to open the report

Saved filter

Tap a filter under User to open its report. A saved filter has a period from the list above, types and tags, but no comment. Long-press it for Edit and Delete.

To save a new filter, tap + on the Reports screen.

Info

Without a premium subscription you can save up to two filters. Remove all and Change type need no subscription.

Check the records

The report opens in the view you used last. Tap the title at the top (for example Total) and choose History. It lists the records the batch actions will change, and Remove all and Change type appear in the ⋮ menu only in this view.

If nothing matches, the report shows Nothing tracked.

An interval counts if any part of it falls in the period. One that started the day before the period, or ended the day after, is changed or deleted in full.

Remove all

  1. In the History view of the report, tap ⋮ in the top right
  2. Tap Remove all
  3. The app asks: "Are you sure you want to delete all of these intervals?" Tap Delete, or Cancel to keep them

The report closes, and every interval in the list is deleted. An activity loses only the intervals that were in the list. If all its intervals were in the list and it isn't running, the whole activity is deleted.

Warning

There is no undo. Look through the History list before you tap Delete. A Predefined report deletes every record of its period, whatever the type. A Custom report or a saved filter with no types selected also covers every type.

If you deleted records by mistake, contact support right away: More → About → Contact support.

Change type

  1. In the History view of the report, tap ⋮ in the top right
  2. Tap Change type
  3. In Select type, tap the new type. Tapping a group opens it: you can choose a type, not a group
  4. The app asks: "Are you sure you want to update type for all of these intervals?" Tap Update all. This dialog has no Cancel button: go back to close it

The report closes. Every interval in the list gets the new type, and so does the activity it belongs to. If that activity has intervals outside the report, those keep their old type.

Example: merge two types. Open Custom, select only the old type in Types, and set From early enough to cover all its records. Open History, then tap ⋮ → Change type and choose the type to keep. Then you can archive or delete the old type — see Types and Groups.
