Frequently Asked Questions
Short answers about pricing, sync, platforms and features of aTimeLogger.
Pricing & plans
Is aTimeLogger free?
Yes. aTimeLogger is free to download and the free tier includes core time tracking, widgets, Apple Watch support, and Siri Shortcuts / Tasker integration. Paid plans unlock unlimited categories, reports, goals and more — see the plans comparison.
How much do the paid plans cost?
Standard is a $5.99 one-time purchase, Premium is a $10.99 one-time purchase, and Premium Sync is $4.99 per month and adds cross-device sync plus the web app.
Is there a lifetime purchase instead of a subscription?
Yes. Standard and Premium are one-time purchases that never expire. Only cross-device sync and the web app require the monthly Premium Sync subscription, because they need ongoing server infrastructure.
Platforms & features
How long has aTimeLogger been around?
Since 2010 — aTimeLogger is one of the first mobile-first time tracking apps, predating most of today's alternatives, and has been in continuous development for over 15 years.
Which platforms does aTimeLogger support?
iOS (including Apple Watch, widgets and Siri Shortcuts), Android (including Wear OS and Tasker integration), a web app, and macOS. Data syncs across all of them with the Premium Sync plan.
Can I track several activities at the same time?
Yes. Multiple activities can run simultaneously, and each can be paused and resumed independently.
Can tracking start automatically, without opening the app?
Yes, several ways: home and lock-screen widgets start, pause or stop activities without unlocking the phone; Apple Watch and Wear OS apps track from the wrist; Siri starts activities by voice; and the app's Apple Shortcuts actions (start, pause, resume, stop) can be combined with any Shortcuts automation trigger — for example, auto-start "Gym" when you arrive at the gym. On Android, Tasker covers similar automation.
How do goals work?
Reach goals keep positive habits up (sleep at least 8 hours a day) and limit goals cap negative ones (TV under 5 hours a week). Goals can be daily or weekly and measured by time or by number of occurrences (drink water 10 times a day). The app notifies you when a goal is reached.
Is there a Pomodoro timer?
Yes, in the Premium plan. Work and break activity types, session and break lengths, number of cycles, alerts and strict mode are all configurable.
Can freelancers use aTimeLogger for billable hours?
Yes, for solo billing workflows: organize work by client or project with groups and tags, and use custom fields to add numbers to entries. A per-duration field such as "hourly rate" calculates earnings automatically from tracked time; per-field reports export to CSV for invoicing. There is no built-in invoice generator or team management.
Sync & data
How does sync across devices work?
Create a free account in the app, subscribe to Premium Sync, and every change syncs automatically to your other devices and the web app. Sync is not platform-locked: iOS, Android, macOS and web all share the same data.
Does aTimeLogger work offline?
Yes. Tracking works fully offline on the mobile apps; your data is stored on the device and syncs when you are back online.
Can I export my data (to Excel)?
Yes. Reports export to CSV — which opens directly in Excel, Numbers or Google Sheets — and HTML from the apps, and to PDF from the web app — including reports built on custom fields, so your data is never locked in.
Is my data private?
Without an account your data stays on your device. With sync enabled, data is stored on our servers solely to provide synchronization and backup. See the privacy policy for details.
Does aTimeLogger send my data to AI?
No. The app never sends your logged data to any AI service. If you want to analyze your time data with an AI assistant, you can do it on your own terms in two ways: export reports to CSV and share the file with the AI tool of your choice, or pull your data from the server API using your account and feed it to your own scripts or agents.
Can I delete my account and my data?
Yes, whenever you want. In the app, open the Account screen and tap "Delete account" — this removes your account and its data. You can also request deletion by emailing support@timetrack.io.
Classic app vs aTimeLogger Pro
What is the difference between the classic aTimeLogger and aTimeLogger Pro?
aTimeLogger Pro is the new app with more detailed reports, Pomodoro timers, calendar integration, custom fields and a modern interface. It is 99% compatible with the classic app, and you can sync data between both to compare before switching.
I bought the classic app — do I have to pay again in Pro?
No. Existing users of the classic app automatically receive the Standard plan in aTimeLogger Pro at no additional cost, which covers all the features of the classic app.
